In the United States 21.1 million
people are in need of specialty treatment for
drug and alcohol addiction.
The age groups affected include teens to older adults.
Each addict impacts
an average of five other people.
Our approach is to deal in a holistic
fashion with each individual. This allows us to look beyond the symptomatic
issue of drug and alcohol abuse and to confront issues of past abuse,
alienation, poor coping skills, poor education and work habits and self esteem.

180 MINISTRIES
180 Ministries serves men 18 years old
and older who deal with a variety of drug
and alcohol related issues. They come from Colorado and as far away as Florida.
Some have legal issues that are facing them, pushing them to a crisis point of confronting
their life style.
Various ethnic and economic groups make up the student group at a particular time.
These individuals need a structure that enables them to lead productive and fulfilling lives.
Any male 18 years of age or older who has a life controlling problem such as drug or alcohol addiction
Men who are willing to enter the program voluntarily and are ready and willing to change their present life-style.
Men willing to accept a structured Christian environment in order to overcome their problems.
HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK?
The Teen Challenge
of the Rocky Mountain’s men’s program
consists of a seven-step program. The program is typically one year long.
The program length is determined on an individual basis and is determined
by completion of the academic requirements for each step, compliance with
rules
and polices and personal growth to be evaluated by the staff. It is our
desire to provide opportunity for each student to thoroughly deal with
all addiction-related
behavior and thinking.
KEY ELEMENTS OF THE PROGRAM INCLUDE:
Counseling (individual and group)
Biblically based studies
Chapel and church services
Prayer and devotion times
Work therapy
Daily structure
Recreation
WHAT DOES THE TEEN CHALLENGE PROGRAM OFFER?
Teen Challenge is concerned
with the “total person”. The program structure is aware of each person’s
spiritual, mental, physical, social and educational needs.
SPIRITUALLY: Teen
Challenge deals with the person’s problems as symptoms of deeper conflicts. Addressing a person’s
spiritual need begins the process of healing. Through faith in Christ individuals
find the changing power that gives the ability to cope with problems and
live a more effective life.
MENTALLY: The rebuilding of the used and abused mind is of key importance. The consistent study of the Bible along with a Bible-based life skills curriculum are the tools used to enhance mental growth by serving
as the foundation for the restructuring of broken down thought patterns, creating new, more stable ideas and principles.
PHYSICALLY: Teen Challenge provides an environment that includes shelter, food, and basic needs as well as work, rest, and recreation. As students begin to function in a drug free environment, physical health usually begins
to improve greatly.
SOCIALLY: Through the benefits of a group living situation, students are taught the biblical perceptive of relationships and conflict management and thus helped to more successfully relate to family, peers and authority.
