House of Promise targets women of any age
dealing with drug abuse and other life-controlling problems who have preschool children. These women suffer from
broken relationships and need to confront their personal issues while learning
how to be a responsible adult and parent. Children need a safe and consistent
environment to grow and develop.
A staffed day care and preschool is offered
for children while mothers are involved in their program of personal development.
Social workers believed the child of one student was termed, “flat-lined” in
her emotional and mental development. After just a few months in the program
this child demonstrated evidence of a remarkable recovery.

Dysfunction
This is the
tragic description of a multitude of women in our communities. It is likely
that your own circle of family and friends includes a single mother who
is struggling to overcome life-controlling issues.
Help in the form of residential guidance and training is the only remaining hope for many, but they must deny such help when it requires separation from their children. While Teen Challenge and similar organizations are helping thousands of women, very few centers are equipped to provide training and transitional housing for both a mother and her children.
Recognizing this need, concerned individuals partnered with Teen Challenge of the Rocky Mountains to open House of Promise in 2005. Located on the western slope of Colorado, House of Promise is an instrument through which Christ brings healing and wholeness to single mothers and their young children in crisis.
House of Promise adapts the proven ministries of Teen Challenge in addressing the needs of single mothers with life-controlling problems. In a safe and stable environment, they learn the biblical principles which lead toward spiritual, emotional, mental, social and economic wholeness. House of Promise includes on-site child care, enabling mothers to focus on the program without being separated from their children.
Parenting skills, life skills and job skills are taught to the moms. Children receive guidance to overcome their experiences. Residents learn practical life applications that will result in an on-going relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. House of Promise is a turning point! Women and their children caught in a cycle of dysfunction and abuse may experience hope and a promising future!
