New Hope House is located in Tooele, Utah. The house is a former convent that has been re-modeled into a lovely home and school.  The students that come to New Hope are seeking to overcome life-controlling problems and have a desire to find a future and purpose for their lives. Our goals are to instill understanding of the value of their life, their responsibility for their choices and reintegration into successful family living.

The staff at New Hope seeks to provide a warm, loving, and homelike atmosphere for troubled students from 13 through 17. New Hope focuses on three basic goals:

  • To provide a home away from home focusing on biblical training of effective life-skills.
  • To introduce the knowledge that they are a child of God and the freedom that comes with the knowledge that they are not alone.
  • To develop the individual gifts that have been placed in each girl that they might discover their uniqueness and value to their families and society.

Residency at New Hope is voluntary. The students are welcomed and made as comfortable as possible. While at New Hope, students will attend home school using the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum. They discover their talents and learn discipline through structure. They are expected to do assigned household chores and complete personal and group studies from the time-tested Teen Challenge curriculum. Each will be challenged with athletic and personal gifts development programs. Students are encouraged to meet regularly with mentoring staff in order to develop plans and set achievable goals to initiate successful Christian living.

Many of the students who come to New Hope House arrive without a sense of direction. This necessitates the program coordinators stress accountability of actions to each student. Discipline is never physical but is a system of earned privileges and responsibilities. The staff works not only to satisfactorily return the students to their families, but also to encourage attitude and responsible changes within the entire family through family meetings. In this sense, New Hope is a learning time for the students and their families. The ultimate goal is the restoration of the family.
